Now I had a clearer idea of what the exhibition actually was, i felt comfortable enough to begin ordering tangible items to put onto my project i had not decided how i want my project to look like; the top runners are a display panel/board or a flat collage.
I used the answers to the questions I had asked my client to determine a general colour pallet for the home concept. I ordered majority of colours that my client has specifically said (sage greens, muted shades) but I also threw in some surprising contrast patterns/colours.
Design with Ease
“I like greens, chalky style colours."
I used several different sites and warehouses to gather my colour swatches for the rooms, i wanted every shade to be a perfect fit. Once i had acquired quite a few of my swatches (although one order never arrived), i called my client on a video chat to show the colours and see her reception of the "surprise" colours i had picked out too, luckily she loved how they fitted and saw my vision for the home. A country manor with modern touches where needed, with clean but vintage-esque shades, but with surprise furnishings with much richer, darker luxurious colours to highlight the traditional architectural features .
The designs
“Be original, show off your style, and tell your story.”
I decided that despite the fact i wanted to match the clients brief to the best of my ability i shouldn't waste an opportunity to show my artists vision for the home. My client told be to "be original, show off your style and tell your story.", this really helped me feel comfortable enough to make out of the box propositions for the project.
