Starting fresh: House sketching

After I had looked through the notes from our consultation, I arranged for a video call with the client to discuss the ideal home layout, and discuss more specific ideas with a better visual presentation.

Some of the key features that were discussed, were the glass partial ceiling (sky-pod), interconnecting bed/bathrooms upstairs, a free flowing downstairs with interconnecting rooms again. The client emphasised the importance of the "boot room" for the dogs and walking apparel storage.

Design with Ease

The client had come prepared as she had existing inspiration images of floor plans she liked parts of.

Get Inspired

We used ideas from these floor-plans as inspiration, especially the term "great room" which played into the entire design for the entrance hall, and its grandiose design scheme. My client also liked the horse shoe kind of shape, similar to the first two floor-plans she provided, with the staircase being central to the homes layout with a simple circle flow.
